Israel nach dem 7. Oktober

The Story

Since the Hamas-led massacre on October 7, 2023 – where over 1,200 people were killed – Israel has become a deeply unsettled nation.

In his documentary “Israel nach dem 7. Oktober – Ein zerrissenes Land”, journalist and presenter Constantin Schreiber offers an unfiltered look into the fractures tearing Israeli society apart.
Jewish citizens walk the streets armed with rifles, fearing further attacks. Israeli Palestinians, in turn, fear retaliation and systemic marginalization. Across the country, massive protests erupt daily – against Prime Minister Netanyahu, against war, for peace, for security, and for the release of hostages.

The film captures a moment where positions are hardening, fear overrides dialogue, and moderate voices are drowned out in the noise.

The Music

The score for this documentary was composed to echo the emotional fragmentation of a country under pressure.

Built on restrained textures and atmospheric layers, the music avoids sentimentality – instead offering a fragile, suspended tone that underscores the uncertainty and volatility of the moment. Subtle motifs appear and dissolve, mirroring the fleeting hope, deep grief, and unresolved tensions on all sides.

The sound does not judge. It observes – and lets the silence between notes speak of a society searching for balance in the aftermath of trauma.
