The Story

In a family’s journey through multiple decades, everything changes – from the people and their stories to the spaces they inhabit. Yet, one thing remains constant: the iconic Vitra Lounge Chair.

Captured entirely in-camera using motion control, this film beautifully showcases how generations come and go, memories are made, and lives evolve, all while the Vitra chair steadfastly accompanies them. Each frame was meticulously planned, with changes to the set, cast, costumes, and props happening live during the shoot – a testament to the enduring presence of the chair in a changing world.

Nathalie’s diverse creative vision and passion for storytelling bring this tribute to life, reminding us that while everything around us may change, great design endures.

The Music

Just like the iconic Vitra Lounge Chair itself, the music for this film is crafted to endure – a timeless composition that resonates through the decades. A delicate piano melody intertwines with orchestral elements, guided by the gentle, muted tones of an Una Corda. This nuanced sound reflects the intimate moments shared within the family, capturing the warmth and continuity that define the story.

Soft, resonant basses and subtle percussion gently underscore the never-ending camera movement, mirroring the steady passage of time while the lives around the Vitra chair evolve and change. The composition flows with quiet strength, evoking a sense of connection and endurance amid life’s transformations – much like the lasting presence of the Vitra Lounge Chair in the family home.
