VENA at the German Film Awards 2025

VENA at the German Film Awards 2025
Nominated, Not Awarded. Still a Huge Honor.
This year, VENA was nominated for the 2025 German Film Award (Deutscher Filmpreis) – an incredible moment for everyone involved. Even though we didn’t take home the Lola, what remains is a deep sense of gratitude.
VENA is a film born from heart, courage, and creative conviction. The nomination for Best Feature Film alone was a powerful affirmation – showing that the film resonated with people and found its audience. As the composer of the original score, I feel incredibly honored to have been part of this journey. Working with director Chiara Fleischhacker was a rare gift – marked by trust, openness, and a shared artistic vision.
A score that supports rather than dominates
The music for VENA is subtle and emotional – often operating in the background rather than taking center stage. That’s why it meant so much to see it acknowledged within the context of the nomination. It’s not a given that such understated work gets noticed.
A heartfelt thank-you
Even without a golden Lola, this nomination was a milestone. I’m deeply thankful to the entire team – on and off screen – for creating something so unique together. And thank you to the audiences who embraced VENA so openly.
What remains? So much.
What remains is pride. What remains is joy. And what remains is the music – as part of a film that found its own quiet, powerful voice.
